David Tsang Bio David Tsang was the Senior Asian Category Manager for Tree of Life, Inc. He developed and implemented the Asian food category strategy nationwide for supermarket and mass channels. Worked with government agencies from Thailand, Korea and Singapore in developing Asian suppliers’ knowledge of importing and marketing products into the USA. Visits to all three counties were sponsored by each respective government agencies. David Tsang, founder of House of Tsang® and Oriental Deli®, created Starport® Foods and Le Krewe Restaurant and Oyster Bar serving Creole and Cajun cuisine. He is a Food Consultant, renowned chef, specialty food producer and restaurateur. He developed and produced House of Tsang, a line of Asian stir-fry sauces, flavored oils, and grill sauces for retail and foodservice, including pre-cooked frozen appetizers, entrees and instant soups. David has appeared on national television and radio shows and commercials, taught cooking classes and authored "All That Sizzles" cookbook. House of Tsang was sold twice, first to Kraft Foods, 1987, then to Hormel Foods in 1992. Oriental Deli was a turn-key Asian take-out prepared food system for supermarket delis, including kitchen design, menu and recipe development and cook training. This concept was implemented in supermarket delis across the United States. David also developed operational methods using pizza oven to prepared Asian food for Pizza Hut delivery. Oriental Deli were sold to Hormel Foods® David was a co-founder of Tai Pan Asian QSR in San Francisco developed non-wok cooking recipes and methods using a special design heated-cover griddle system employing low skill level cooks Starport Foods was formed in 1997 offering World Flavors to the foodservice industry with on-going support in recipe and menu development and provide private labels to the food industry. David Tsang is a Member of Institute of Food Technologist since 1988 and an Advisory Board Member of Department of Hospitality Management College of Business San Francisco State University. David was the Operations Manager for the Stanford Linear Accelerator, Stanford University before he ventured into the food business.
